Morris is a city located in Stevens County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,068. It is the county seat of Stevens County6.
The city is home to the University of Minnesota system's Morris campus. In 1975, the city was also the site of the largest earthquake of the last century in the state, rated at between 4.6 and 4.8 in magnitude.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.8 km2 (4.5 mi2). 11.1 km2 (4.3 mi2) of it is land and 0.6 km2 (0.2 mi2) of it is water. The total area is 5.51% water.
